Holy Paladin

Single-target healing with Flash of Light and Holy Light, group bursts through Light's Vigil and strong raid buffs.

Updated

Based on beta data (level 30 cap); will be updated as Forever details are confirmed. Stat priorities are provisional.

How Holy Paladin plays

Holy Paladin is mostly single-target healing plus strong raid buffs: Greater Blessing of Kings, Greater Blessing of Might, Concentration Aura, Fire Resistance Aura and judgement effects such as Seal of Wisdom and Seal of the Crusader.

Light’s Vigil is the group healing tool: put it on a party member ahead of damage, then use Holy Shock on that player to heal their whole group and reset Holy Shock’s cooldown. Crits with Holy Shock and Flash of Light grant Infusion of Light, which makes your next Holy Light much faster.

Core spells

Spell Use
Flash of Light Quick, cheap, small heal; your most used spell
Holy Light Long cast, expensive, big heal
Holy Shock Instant heal, costly; also triggers Light’s Vigil
Light’s Vigil Set up group healing before damage
Seal of Light + Judgement Keep on the main enemy target

Healing priority

  1. Apply Seal of Light and use Judgement on the main target.
  2. Cast Light’s Vigil when your whole group will need healing soon.
  3. Holy Shock that player to trigger the group heal.
  4. Spend Infusion of Light procs on Holy Light.
  5. Holy Shock when there is no time for a cast.
  6. Flash of Light for quick, cheap heals or Holy Light for big ones.

Damage priority (solo or quiet moments)

  1. Keep Seal of Righteousness up.
  2. Judgement.
  3. Holy Strike.
  4. Exorcism on undead or demons.
  5. Holy Shock.
  6. Consecration.

Ranks

Max ranks at level 60 listed by Wowhead: Holy Light rank 9, Flash of Light rank 6, Holy Shock rank 4, Light’s Vigil rank 3, Seal of Light rank 4 and Seal of Wisdom rank 3.

Mana

Flash of Light is the efficient default. Holy Shock and Light’s Vigil are expensive, and Wowhead notes the mana needed to use Light’s Vigil in raids is untested, so a fair amount of Spirit may be needed. Judge Seal of Wisdom when the raid needs mana.

Cooldowns

Stat priority (provisional)

  1. Healing Power
  2. Intellect
  3. Spell Crit
  4. Spirit

Dungeons and raids

  • Dungeons: Flash of Light on the tank, Holy Shock for emergencies, Light’s Vigil before big pulls.
  • Raids: pick blessings and auras for the fight (Fire Resistance Aura where fire damage is heavy), judge the seal the raid needs and heal your assigned targets.
