How Restoration Druid plays
Know what damage is coming, have heals over time up before it lands, then react. Rejuvenation prepares targets and enables Swiftmend; Regrowth heals spikes and leaves a long heal over time; Wild Growth is the answer when three or more people in one party are hurt.
Tranquility is weak in Forever and locked to your party. Wowhead recommends ignoring it until it is buffed: Wild Growth, five Rejuvenations and another Wild Growth take the same time and heal far more.
Core spells
| Spell | Use |
|---|---|
| Rejuvenation | Efficient heal over time; set up before damage |
| Regrowth | Spike heal plus long heal over time |
| Wild Growth | 3 second cast party heal; 3+ hurt in one party |
| Swiftmend | Instant heal using the strongest heal over time on the target; works on other druids’ heals |
| Healing Touch | Max rank with Nature’s Swiftness for emergencies |
| Gift of the Earthmother | Makes Rejuvenation into Swiftmend a one-second save |
By situation
| Damage | Single target | Several targets | Whole party | Raid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light | Rejuvenation, then Regrowth if needed | Rejuvenation on each | Stack Rejuvenation, hold Wild Growth | Blanket Rejuvenation |
| Heavy | Regrowth, Swiftmend if it gets worse, trinkets | Rejuvenation first, Wild Growth on 3+ in a party, Regrowth spikes, Swiftmend | Wild Growth, then Regrowth and Swiftmend, then another Wild Growth | Weave Wild Growth between Rejuvenations on your group |
| Lethal | Swiftmend, or Rejuvenation into Swiftmend, or Nature’s Swiftness + Healing Touch | NS + HT lowest, Swiftmend next lowest, Regrowth the rest | Wild Growth, NS + HT, Swiftmend, Regrowth | Wild Growth on cooldown; NS + HT, Swiftmend, Regrowth in order of urgency |
In raids, heal your assigned groups first. Without an assignment, keep yourself and your party healthy, then help others.
Ranks and mana
Rejuvenation is your efficient heal for light damage. Use max rank Healing Touch with Nature’s Swiftness. Innervate lets mana regeneration continue while casting and raises it by 400%, recovering roughly 60 to 70% of a mana bar. Often you can give it to another healer with high Spirit; check the target.
Cooldowns
- Nature’s Swiftness + Healing Touch: strongest emergency heal.
- Swiftmend: whenever immediate healing is needed.
- Barkskin: less damage taken and no pushback while casting.
- Innervate: big mana return, targetable.
- Nature’s Grasp: chance to root melee attackers; Entangling Roots works indoors in Forever.
- Rebirth: combat resurrection; another healer is usually the best target.
