Restoration Shaman

Chain Heal through Riptide targets, party totems and Mana Tide Totem for group mana.

Updated

Based on beta data (level 30 cap); will be updated as Forever details are confirmed. Stat priorities are provisional.

How Restoration Shaman plays

A flexible healer with strong utility and very good area healing through Chain Heal, especially on targets with Riptide, which boosts Chain Heal by 25%. Totems such as Strength of Earth Totem and Windfury Totem support the party, Nature’s Swiftness covers emergencies and Mana Tide Totem restores mana for the group.

Core spells

Spell Use
Riptide Keep on the most injured allies; boosts Chain Heal
Chain Heal Main group heal; aim at Riptide targets
Healing Wave Efficient single-target heal
Strength of Earth Totem, Windfury Totem Party buffs
Searing Totem, Magma Totem, Fire Nova Damage when mana allows
Earthbind Totem Slow enemies while kiting

Single target

  1. Keep buff totems up for your party.
  2. Keep Searing Totem down for cheap passive damage.
  3. Riptide on the most injured ally.
  4. Healing Wave for efficient healing.

Group healing

  1. Keep buff totems up.
  2. Riptide on the most injured allies.
  3. Chain Heal, preferably on Riptide targets.
  4. Magma Totem and Fire Nova only if you can afford the mana.

Ranks and mana

Downrank Healing Wave and Chain Heal to save mana, or wait until the target is badly hurt and cast max rank, so you spend more time not casting and regenerate from Spirit outside the five second rule. Only deal damage when healing is not needed.
